The Social Canvas is a youth development organization and community hub creating opportunities for young people to discover their strengths, build meaningful relationships, and become the leaders, professionals, and changemakers of tomorrow.
Potential is everywhere. Opportunity isn't.
Minnesota is home to one of the largest Somali communities in North America and a rapidly growing generation of young people with extraordinary potential. But potential alone isn't enough. Young people need mentors. They need exposure. They need networks. They need spaces to experiment. The Social Canvas exists to close that gap.

Where we are right now
The Social Canvas is new.
We're building programs, recruiting mentors, and working toward a permanent home. We're not going to tell you how many young people we've served, because we're just getting started. What we can tell you is what we're building and why — and that the people we need are the ones reading this.
